About Terrence and Dennis Mckenna
Terence Mckenna was born on November 16, 1946, and lived till April 3, 2000. He was an American ethnobotanist, mystic, psychonaut, lecturer, author and advocate for the responsible use of naturally occurring psychedelic plants. He was passionate about various subjects, including psychedelic drugs, philosophy, culture and technology.
Growing Magic Mushrooms
The Fun Guys can appreciate that McKenna and his brother Dennis developed a method for cultivating psilocybin mushrooms using spores they brought to America from the Amazon. In 1976, the brothers posted what they found out in a book called Psilocybin: Magic Mushroom Grower’s Guide. McKenna and his brother had been the first to develop a reliable method for cultivating psilocybin mushrooms at home.
The new process worried the use of regular kitchen implements. For the first time, they have produced a mighty entheogen in their home without being admitted to sophisticated technology, equipment, or chemical supplies. When the 1986 revised version was published, the Magic Mushroom Grower’s Guide had sold over 100,000 copies.
